Brokenness Aside – All Songs & Daughters (Chorus)
I am sinner – if it’s not one thing, it’s another
Caught up in words, tangled in lies.
BUT you are Saviour
And you take brokenness aside and make it beautiful, Beautiful.
I have been singing this chorus on loop for the past couple of days. These reminders come to mind:
- I am a sinner. Always.
- I am a sinner in what I do , say and think.
- BUT He is a Saviour
- He makes me beautiful, I am made righteous in Him.
I love the contrast between my depravity, and His righteousness; my deceitfulness and His saving Grace. My identity as a sinner, and His identity as a Saviour. I am in awe of what He has done for me and the beauty & righteousness that is found in me through Him.
For there is no distinction: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. – Romans 3:23-26
