Romans 2-3 [NLT]

so after reading today, i definitely realized that i don’t read enough of the bible. i need to read it more, i don’t know it as well as i should. and thus the start of this journey.

He will judge everyone according to what they have done. he will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality God offers but he will pour out his anger and wrath on th those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.– Romans 2:6-8.

i found those few verses pretty intense. and while reading the rest of the chapter talking about how we are all going to be judged and then condemned and punished for the sins we have done. i was kinda in shock. not going to lie. i mean i’m trying to read romans, romans is in the new testament. WHERE WAS JESUS? he died for our sins. and we are still going to be judged… because “i proclaim that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life”-Romans 2:16. ummm secret life. sounds kind funny, even kinda amusing, but to know that those sins that you might know about, the things that you don’t tell your friends, and that you like keeping private. that happens when you are alone, or when you are with your family. the stuff that you don’t tell your friends. yeah. EVERYTHING will be judged. but then….

dun dun DUNNNN…. Christ took our punishment, he sent his only son Jesus Christ “ We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” – Romans 3:22. and we are freed from the penalty of our sins. and yes this is old news to me, might be new news to you. everything that we have done, will be forgiven :)…. and this is where my question comes in. will we still be judged? we have been forgiven, our sins are forgiven , and God is telling us that once we believe, well everything is now right with God? so what about judgement day? we will be judged…. still…. ?

i shall read on.
